El Camino Language Academy (El Camino Community College)

El Camino Language Academy (ECLA) is located on the campus of El Camino College, one of the leading community colleges in the United States. ECLA is an academic program that helps you acquire the skills you need to continue your education in the U.S. We welcome you to this culturally diverse region of Southern California, close to beautiful beaches and world-class ski resorts. The goal of ECLA is to help international students achieve the required TOEFL score and the level of English needed to study in the U.S., so that they can transfer to El Camino College or other universities in the United States. The ECLA program is offered in the fall, spring, and summer terms and consists of 20 hours of classes per week taught by community college instructors. (Classes offered: Conversation, Reading, Grammar, Writing, American Culture, and TOEFL Preparation) The program also includes a variety of events such as campus events, lunch parties, and picnics. All international students meet with an academic counselor before the program starts and consult with a counselor at least once per semester. El Camino's outstanding counseling professionals help students choose their majors and provide friendly, detailed advice on careers, transfer opportunities, and graduation credit requirements.

The amusement parks in Southern California are the best in the world. Disneyland, Universal Studios and Knott’s Berry Farm are all within an hour’s drive. Six Flags Magic Mountain, Wild Animal Park and Sea World are between one and two hours drive. Although it may be hard to believe one place can have it all, Southern California also has the mountain resorts of Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear; with sightseeing plus downhill and cross-country skiing just a few hours away.
