University of Connecticut

The American English Language Institute (UCAELI) at the University of Connecticut was founded in 1990, and every year many students enroll in UCAELI programs with the goal of entering a U.S. university in the future and improving their everyday English. The UCAELI curriculum is designed to provide instruction tailored to each student's learning ability and an optimal learning environment. In addition to general English programs, it offers university preparation programs and practices international exchange and English education across a wide range of areas, including cultural events, and it provides university guidance counseling to students who wish to go on to university. Along with classroom lessons, it offers opportunities to use English through cultural activities and various outdoor activities such as visits to tourist attractions in Connecticut, creating a learning environment in which students can practice English in daily life. UCAELI students can use all the facilities on the university campus. UCAELI is a member institute of AAIEP (American Association of Intensive English Programs), an educational association made up only of language institutes that meet certain standards.
